Im an professional working with parents to help their Fussy Eaters.
Since becoming a Mom, I’ve found that feeding a family is indeed challenging (trying to keep all family members healthy, happy & well fed!).
My background is a degree in Psychology (TCD) as well as a Masters in Health Psychology and a PhD in Health Promotion (both NUI, Galway). I’ve had many work roles including working with the Irish Cancer Society and Lecturing in Psychology. For 7 years I've worked for a government-funded service as a Coach with adults (on a one-to-one basis) in Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Facilitation.
I've always had a huge interest in food and nutrition, and this prompted me to undertake an internationally recognised qualification in Nutrition Coaching (Pearson & BTEC award).
Ive completed additional training e.g., Food Parenting (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the US), as well as investigating the latest research and practice on fussy eating. The advice I give reflects the work in my own practice with parents of fussy eaters; as well as that of international experts (including Danielle Binns, Jill Castle, Dr Jennifer Cohen, Alisha Grogan, Maryann Jacobsen, Sally Kuzemchak, Sarah Remmer, Dina Rose, Ellyn Satter and Natalia Stasenko).
I've found parents experiencing lots of challenges and frustrations while feeding their kids. I felt there was a need for an expert service working directly with parents to help their Fussy Eaters. Hence Growing Healthy Eaters was born.
Finally, I have written articles for myKidsTime and Family Friendly HQ. I am also one of the Family Experts on MummyPages, which is Ireland's leading family life online community, where I write a monthly blog, usually on Fussy Eating; see https://www.mummypages.ie/experts
