Child's Healthy Eating Consultation (available in-person / online)
I look at the list of food and drink for your child(ren) as a unique starting point (based on all meals, snacks and drinks for 3 days). This is to ensure I get a better picture of your child(s) unique starting point. Then this helps me to determine patterns, preferences and dislikes, in terms of textures, tastes, colours etc. I work with you in a non-judgemental way, taking account of your child(ren)’s preferences etc.
This occurs within the context of your whole family, to ensure proposed changes are sustainable and realistic. Based on your priorities we develop personalised recommendations together, involving gradual changes and working at your pace.
Meetings in person are in my home office in Galway City. This allows quick access to my well-stocked fridge, freezer and pantry so that you can see products first hand, taste samples etc. Of course, we can Skype as well, if that's suits better. All meetings last for up to 1 hour and the fee is €60.
I usually recommend that this is an adult conversation, rather than including children at this meeting.
Follow-up (usually within 3-4 weeks)
We often find challenges arise when we start to do things differently. This is why follow-up appointments are so popular to keep you motivated and support you in the transition period.
One-off consultations can result in worthwhile progress e.g.
- A straightforward, road-map to structure what your children eat
- Specific plan for how to neutralize desserts and / treats
- Recommending better products eg reduced sugar or sweet alternatives.
