How to Reduce Frequent Snacking
Frequency snacking or grazing is very common among toddlers and children, and is often one of the main causes of fussy eating in children.
This is because if a child eats frequently, they are:
- less likely to be hungry for mealtimes,
- foods usually served for snacks are often what I call ‘snack type foods’ such as crackers, yogurt or fruit.
- If a child eats these ‘snack type foods’ frequently, they may be less interested in eating more ‘meal-type foods’ such as dinner which may have more soft /wet / mixed textures.
