Who is this for?
It is for parents of toddlers and children (up to 12 years) who want expert help,
before things become more stressful or more limited.
This may be a good fit if :
Mealtimes feel tense, pressured or exhausting.
There’s regular food refusal or eating only a very small range of “safe” foods
Your child is stuck on processed foods or constantly snacking
- Your child avoids trying foods new foods
This may be a good fit if you:
- Feel unsure how to respond without making things worse
- Want a gentle approach that does not increase stress around food
- Want clear next steps from a specialist; rather than trying lots of tips, with little progress
A gentle, child-centred approach
Healthy eating is a skill, and some children need more support with this than others.
Accepting new foods is often a process, not something that happens automatically, and the goal is to make progress in a way that feels positive, realistic, and manageable for your family.
This approach starts with where your child is now, using foods they already accept, and helps you build from there without pressure or battles at the table.
How the Support Hour works
1. After booking, you’ll receive a 3-day food log to complete before the consultation so we can get a clear picture of your child’s eating patterns.
2. In the session, we’ll talk through what’s happening now and identify gentle, practical, child-centred strategies you can start using straight away.
3. After the consultation, I’ll email you a step-by-step action plan
4. You can email me afterwards, if questions come up
5. Most families then work on the plan over the following 4 to 6 weeks

Colette’s talk was informative and practical. I have watched one daughter slowly reduce the foods she will eat to a small selection, while her sister continues to eat almost everything. It was frustrating, but things are beginning to improve thanks to Colette’s positive, straightforward, and effective advice. Thank you!Posted on Google![]()

When I first contacted Colette, my toddler had gone through a good bit of sickness. With every sickness, it turned her off another food. After she'd recover from an illness, she still would take a while to go back to even safe foods, for example, potato waffles. She weaned very well and ate lots of different foods initially but I feel her fussiness is getting worse, and now she won't even try or taste foods. After implementing Colette's suggestions, she's eating much better in the creche and also at home, and there's a lot less grazing. She is back trying lots of different foods; and she's gone back to eating some foods, for example, scrambled egg that she had been refusing before. She's also much better at combining of foods, for example, pieces of fruit in yoghurt. I feel things are going really well, and will only get better now. Thankfully I don't feel as worried anymore by her lack of variety or inconsistent eating.Posted on Google![]()

My Son was a picky eater, when we brought him here in Ireland he only he only eats certain brand of bread, biscuits and crackers from my home country. When we first approached Colette, we really needed help and didn’t want to ignore it anymore. Within a short time of following Colette’s advice he started to eat more, and was more open to more variety of his usual foods, as well as starting to eat new foods such as peanut butter, nuts and sandwiches. When we finished the package with Colette, he was doing so much better and improving all the time.Posted on Google![]()

I went to Colette because I was worried about my son’s eating habits. She was great to lay out a plan and a gentle approach for me and my husband. Changes were slow and gradual but improvements have been made. We are confident with Colette’s plan he’s be more open to new foods.Posted on Google![]()

My six-year-old was a very selective eater a few months ago. Dinner was particularly challenging. She'd live off snacks like yogurt. There was very little protein except eggs and no veg except carrots. Her eating had got worse over time and she had become tired of eating the same foods too often. She also would get upset when you put a new food on the plate I have two other children; and they're really good eaters. But I wasn't sure if I was doing the right things with this girl. I'd looked it up before, including a HSE dietician led webinar and the advice was to keep offering food, but this wasn't getting us anywhere. From quite early on, there was definitely a bit of progress. There were more substantial meals including dinners, with less resistance. And of course this had a positive effect on all the others in our family. She really got on board with food exploring and we started to see definite wins. For example, she started to eat a tomato sauce (and not just ketchup), as well as veg pancakes; and more protein, such as breaded fish, hamburgers and meatballs. We are still a work in progress but we are sticking with it and having small wins. One thing I would say to other parents considering booking in with Collette is that it’s important to commit to the advice even though it can be quite time consuming. You have to be organised in relation to buying in and preparing the various samples and preparing food and recipes. But I feel there is no way around this. It is definitely the right approach to take.Posted on Google![]()

Our experience with Colette has been truly life changing. We went from having an early happy weaner to a food refuser from 11-15 months with a very limited palate back to a very happy and contented 20 month old eater with a varied diet on par with our family. Mealtimes are no longer a stress wondering will it be hit and miss or what will end up on the floor. Eating consistency is something I will never take for granted again. When I contacted Colette, she could not have been more helpful and supportive. Her approach is so gentle yet effective. Colette has such sage, pragmatic advice and is such a wonderfully kind, compassionate Specialist to engage with. I couldn’t recommend Colette highly enough.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Frequently Asked Questions
Many children go through a fussy eating stage, especially in the toddler and preschool years, and this is often a normal part of growing up and becoming more independent.
Recent research shows that more than 1 in 3 Irish children (aged 5–12) are classified as fussy eaters, rejecting many familiar and new foods.
So while fussy eating is very common, if your child is eating only a very small range of foods, avoiding whole food groups, or mealtimes feel very stressful, it may be beneficial to get expert support.
Eating patterns can become unhelpful quite easily, sometimes without parents even realising it.
Yes. The Fussy Eating Support Hour is designed for both toddlers and school-age children (roughly 18 months up to 12 years).
The principles we use are evidence-based and can be tailored to your child’s age, stage, and specific eating challenges.
No. The Fussy Eating Support Hour is primarily for parents and carers. Most families choose to attend without their child.
It’s a parent‑led approach: I work directly with you, the parent. We focus on understanding what’s happening with your child’s eating and then give you practical strategies you can start using at home.
It’s also a child‑centred approach, starting from where your child is currently and how they are eating.
It depends on factors like how long your child has been eating this way, their age, and how limited their eating currently is.
For some families, one session is enough to start seeing changes in mealtimes and their child’s eating, especially for toddlers and for children who have been fussy for a shorter time.
Many parents sign up to a Fussy Eating Support package to understand what’s going on and to receive support over a number of months. This is a gradual, step‑by‑step process that starts with building a strong foundation, before new foods are introduced.
However you can start with one hour and then move to a package (and just pay the balance)
